Victorian advertisements

A wide range of (mainly) illustrated advertisements from newspapers, magazines and trade publications from the ninteenth century. These are grouped into four chapters: Health, Beauty, Miscellaneous, Pleasure.

There is a brief forward by James Laver. The title page states that 'Compiled in collaboration wth Ilonka van Amstel from teh collections of Mr Roland Knaster and the British Museum'.
