A porter's lamp from the Salt School opened in 1868

A porter's lamp from the Salt School opened in 1868. Rediscovered by Mr W Smith, the head caretaker in November 1975.
The lamp is made of dark metal and has three sides arranged in an equal triangle. It has a glass front and a folding metal handle at the back. A wick is visible inside the lamp.
